Coach Collin Hoffman

Colin Hoffman is a senior at Highland High School.  He has been involved with competitive swimming for 5 years.  He started swimming for ACAC in eighth grade (2004) for many reasons.  The main reason is because his friend, Josh Stephenson, talked about it all the time, and he was very curious about it.  Another reason is because it was right after the 2004 Olympics, and he thought the swimming part was really cool.  In his first year, he competed at the Divisional Meet in the spring and later Age Group State in the summer.  After a strong sectionals in his second year swimming, which was also his freshman year, he competed at the Age Group State meet one last time and placed 8th overall in the 100 Breaststroke.  The following year, he had a season-ending knee injury right before sectionals, but came back later that summer to compete at the Speedo Sectional meet with his fellow assistant coach, Alisha.  Colin’s junior year was marked by great team accomplishments, including leading the HHS boys swim team as Captain, breaking the school record in the 200 Medley Relay and advancing to high school state in both that and the 100 Breaststroke, placing 23rd and 20th.  He set his personal best time at Senior State in the 100 Breast at 59.85 seconds last year.  This is Colin’s 2nd year as assistant coach for our Novice team.  He had a great time coaching last year and is thrilled to continue to coach this year.
